Marguerite Marie Alibert (9 December 1890 – 2 January 1971), also known as Maggie Meller, Marguerite Laurent, and Princess Fahmy, was a French socialite. She started her career as a prostitute and later courtesan in Paris, and from 1917 to 1918, she had an affair with the prince of Wales (later Edward VIII). After her marriage to Egyptian aristocrat Ali Kamel Fahmy Bey, she was frequently called princess by the news media of the time. In 1923, she killed her husband at the Savoy Hotel in London. She was eventually acquitted of the murder charge after a trial at the Old Bailey.

Edvard VIII (engelska: Edward VIII; fullständigt namn: Edward Albert Christian George Andrew Patrick David), född 23 juni 1894 på White Lodge i Richmond, död 28 maj 1972 i Paris, var Storbritanniens kung mellan 20 januari och 11 december 1936. Edvard var äldste son till Georg V av Storbritannien och Mary av Teck.

Edvard erhöll titeln prins av Wales 1910. Han efterträdde sin far som kung av Storbritannien, Irland och övriga brittiska dominier samt kejsare av Indien från 20 januari 1936 till sin abdikation den 11 december 1936. Från 1940 till 1945 var han guvernör på Bahamas. Hans officiella titulatur som regerande kung var Edward the Eighth, by the Grace of God, of Great Britain, Ireland and the British Dominions beyond the Seas, King, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India.
